About ME
Welcome. My name is Dr. Lauren Jones (she/her). I am a Black woman, educator, and scholar based in Minneapolis. I'm an Aries. I have worked in higher education for 14 years across functional areas. My scholarship and professional work center Black liberation, organizational change, and leadership development. I'm excited to partner with new people and organizations who want to truly do the hard work of antiracism, justice and equity.

Why Maroon?
Maroons were descendants of Africans in the Americas who formed settlements away from slavery. For me, the word represents active and blessed community, resistance, and liberation.
