I am from the Southside of Chicago. I grew up in church learning about both Jesus and Fred Hampton. I come from a family of educators and badass women.
Bachelors (2006). Masters (2011). PhD in progress, anticipated 2024. Dissertation research is focused on professional Black women. Other research interests include DEI professionals, DEI in health science education, higher education, and race and gender in the workplace.
Higher education professional since 2007, in public, private, large, small and medium institutions.
I am a qualified administrator of the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI). Maroon Consulting is a certified Black/Women/Small business via the Central Certification Program (CERT).
I have taught multiple college level leadership classes as well as facilitated dozens of workshops focused on different aspects of diversity, equity, and justice. I have supervised multiple teams, lead large committees, and managed large projects and budgets.
